Apple iPhone 3G is all set to enter the Indian market on August 22. While bookings are open to subscribers there is still not much clarity on the pricing of the handset in India.
But reports say that the 8GB iPhone may be priced in the region close to Rs 31,000 in India. This excludes the bundled package of the service provider. The 16 GB version may be priced higher in the range of Rs 36,000-Rs 37,000.
Elsewhere across the globe the new version of iPhone was launched in the range of $200 dollars (about Rs 8500). But this was mainly due to the subsidies offered in tie-up with service providers who bank upon the VAS to be offered to iPhone users
